Everything You Always Wanted to Know about sales letters/prospecting but didn’t know who to ask
From the mail bag:
I’ve been in my email bag and it’s kinda interesting. I either get plenty of emails about just starting out asking two basic questions.
Question Number One
How do I prospect?
Question Number Two
How do I write a sales letter?
The follow-up questions are even more interesting. Usually I see people asking me for the magic pill that will answer the question and solve the problem in one simple, easy, no hassle, do nothing step.
Well, there isn’t one pill that will solve all of your problems.
Recently a friend of mine saw his doctor about a medical problem he was having. My friend wanted a simple pill to solve it. The Doctor scolded him. The Doctor told my friend that he would have to look him over, do some tests, and try to identify the problem before a cure could be prescribed. Eventually the Doctor had my friend begin a series of drugs and other changes to his diet until the problem was solved.
The reason I share this story is because usually one pill will not solve your Prospecting and Selling Problems. It takes a series of steps to get you where you want to be in your pre-need selling career.
BUT, it isn’t one step (or pill if you will).
It is a protocol involving lots of steps. It is a prescription of many steps in a process.
For the next several days we’ll cover how to prospect from scratch and the components of a great sales letter.
So, let’s get started.
