Accomplishing Huge Success In A Short Amount Of Time
My mother said to me. “If you become a soldier you’ll be a general;
if you become a monk, you’ll end up as the Pope.” Instead,
I became a painter and wound up as Picasso
There will come a time when everything is aligned perfectly and you’ll accomplish more in six months than any year.
Everything will fall into place. All of your leads will seem to convert. All of your presentations will close. All of a sudden you will see success beyond your wildest dreams.
How you ask?
I don’t know. All I know is it’s happened to me and can and will happen to you if you’ll get back to the basics, take control of your time, put a system into place, and execute your game plan.
Successful pre-need sellers are highly motivated. I’ve spoken about this in a previous book. I don’t know what motivates you but…you do. There’s something about success that’s contagious.
Once you taste some success it will encourage you to do more of the same. You’re in a business not many people succeed at even though they come real close. They quit just shy of success and make up excuses. The reality is there are no excuses. You make it happen and all of those pre-need casualties who gave up just before they succeeded…well, it is sad. They came close.
This is a business that requires work.
It is easy to sit on your duff and wait for business to walk in the door. There are pre-need sellers who are lucky order takers. But the luck will run out. It is the basics that makes you successful. If it were a football team I’d say the same thing. We tackle, we block, we move the ball forward. It it were baseball we throw the ball, catch the ball, and hit the ball. If you’re sitting back waiting for the business to come to you the risk is high you’ll hit a slump and fail miserably. It’s the little things that add up to huge success. The extra phone call. Door knocking the block of an at-need follow up.
The difference between an excellent running back in football and a premier running back is about a half step. The difference between huge success selling pre-need and failure is just a half step. That little bit of extra that puts you over the top.
My advice to you is to do a little bit more. Make sure you do something each and every day that puts you closer to a sale. Put yourself in position to make the sale. Just do a little bit more.
Remember in the land of the blind the one eyed person leads. The difference between excellence and mediocrity is just a little bit more. If you’ll do what no body else is willing to do you’ll get what no body else can get.
You may think you’re far away but if you’ll go back to the basics and follow a system religiously you’ll achieve success. You’re really that close.
