Selling Opportunities Come From Everywhere

If you work in-side-sales at a cemetery there are opportunities for additional sales in the most unlikely places.

I’m going to list 10 areas you can create a sale out of nothing without really trying.

Opportunity Number One

Trolling for dollars.  When you work in-side there’s always down time for a variety of reasons.

What do you do during the slow time?

Take the golf cart (or walk) through the cemetery grounds and talk to people.

You’ll discover complaints, questions, location checks, and more.

Solve the customer’s problem and many things will come up including pre-arrangement opportunities.

Make trolling for dollars a regular part of your schedule.  Use time-blocking to schedule different times to troll through the cemetery.

Opportunity Number Two

Most in-side-pre-need sellers must cover burials.

Two tips to help you increase business.

As you attend the service you normally stand behind out of the way.  Take note of marker/headstones and dates.  Look for companion/side-by-side markers that have one spouse still living.

Make a note of the names and grave locations and when you get back into the office look for possible cemetery completion opportunities, pre-need funeral opportunities, and next-of-kin for selling opportunities.

Opportunity Number Three

If you have a funeral home/cemetery combo consider placing a small display; business card size, brochure size, and or postcard size with a two-step reply offer.

Look for previous posts on two-step prospecting ideas.

One example would be to a stamped post card with a headline on the back.  The headline could be; 7 Mistakes People Make By Not Pre-Planning Ahead.  Get the FREE special report by filling out this post card and dropping in the box or mailing.
