How to Sell Massive Amounts of Pre-Arrangements By Using Sales Letters Page 8,9

May 20, 2009 by David Dassow

We’re continuing this series on writing sales letters.  Page 8 & 9 are ready to open and or save.

We need to tell our story of why we’re in this business.  I’ve often told the story of how I lost friends back to back.  One friend had nothing arranged while the other friend had everything done.  That is the reason I got into this business.  I can tell the story of my friends in two minutes or twenty depending on the situation and time available.

Testimonials are critical to your success.  You can talk about yourself all day and all night and NO one will care.  BUT, if someone else sings your praises….well, someone else saying great things about you matters.

Make sure you use full names, city, and state.  For purposes of my example I only used first names.  However, those are actual word for word testimonials (I don’t have permission to use testimonials in a training situation).  NOW, one important item to discuss.  DO NOT FAKE TESTIMONIALS!

I repeat do not fake testimonials, or names, or anything else.  And for Pete’s sake, don’t use initials!  Make sure you use your testimonial’s first name, last name, and city.

In my example I’ve changed the font, boxed, and shaded the testimonial on page 8.  There is no set rule just make sure you make the testimonial different from the normal font and format of your sales letter.

Recently someone asked me about how many testimonials to include in your letter.

Lots and lots!

Many times I’ll include an attachment of additional testimonials.  No matter what you do be sure to include testimonials in all correspondence.  Train your families to give you testimonials.  It is critical to the Pre-Need Seller (heck, to anyone selling) to have as many testimonials as possible.

There’s never enough testimonials.  I keep a three-ring binder full of testimonials for my presentations and should as well.

Happy Selling!

 David
