It is not uncommon for Sales Associates to think they can reinvent the wheel.  Why spend tons of money and time trying to start from scratch when you can get a jump on your co-workers/competitors by doing what works?

Measure all of your results from your sales letter.  Track the amount of Prospects responding to your first, second, or third letter but it is important to look at results.  Nothing happens until a sale is made.  I’ve had high responses on my sales letters and NO conversions (sales).

Let me repeat.  It is about results and those results are SALES.  Only sales matters.  Measure your commission dollars based on how much money it costs you to do the mailing.

Return On Investment (ROI)

Measuring the costs and the dollars you bring in is called Return on Investment (ROI) and it is a critical factor with sales letters.

If it costs you One Hundred Dollars to do the mailing and you bring in One Hundred Dollars in commissions your ROI is 1 to 1.

If it costs you $100 to do your mailing and you bring in $1,000 in commissions your ROI is 10 to 1.

Write Like You’re Writing A Friend

Write your sales letter as if you were writing your friend.  If you ever want to test your sales letter let a 12 year old read it.  If your 12 year old understands the letter it’s probably a good one.

Once you’ve written your letter set it aside for a day or two.  To test your letter’s readability read the letter out loud.

Happy Selling!
