How to Sell Massive Amounts of Pre-Arrangements by Using Sales Letters page 4
May 13, 2009 by David Dassow
One of the bigger misconceptions about sales letters is the thinking that your recipient is going to be breathlessly waiting by the mail box. Further, the myth that your letter is going to be read because you sent it.
Think for a minute how you treat your own mail. Do you sort it over the waste paper basket? Do you read every letter even if it is junk mail?
Do you pay attention to bulk rate or live stamps or postage meter?
If the letter looks like an obvious piece of junk mail do you open it?
Now, if you were sent a letter in a white envelope with handwritten address and live stamp would you open it?
AND, once the letter is opened what keeps you reading it?
It does nobody any good at all if your Prospect receives your letter and tosses it in the trash. It does nobody any good if your Prospect opens the letter and doesn’t read it.
When I say it does nobody any good I’m talking about you. It is a complete waste of time and money to send lousy sales letters in junk mail looking envelopes.
Finally, sending one letter to a Prospect is a recipe for disaster. Mail multiple letters sequenced and linked together.
