30 Day Blueprint, Preparing for Success

When preparing your 30 Day Blueprint for Success it is necessary to develop your marketing plan. You marketing plan is different from a Prospecting plan. Your marketing plan will encompass all aspects of lead generation, presentations, closing. In addition you’ll need to work through the economics of the market and the average sale/commission you’ll get as you capture new business. Focus is especially important. I always say you must be FIRM but flexible. Don’t let the wind change your direction. Stay the course you develop through your marketing plan.
We spoke about getting all your tools ready and system in place.
Remember the definition of marketing. “Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. (Approved, October 2007, by the American Marketing Association)
Remember the definition of prospecting. “Systematically collecting names of prospects (leads). (BusinessDictionary.com)
My definition of Marketing: Casting a wide net into a lake with the net designed specifically for a particular fish (customer). Further, marketing is finding a group of fish (people group) with certain commonality(s) I can identify. Marketing is developing a system to funnel those fish through a process (moving your leads through a process until they become customers).
My definition of Prospecting: Using a fishing line with a hook into the net inside the lake with a specific type of bait designed to attract a specific kind of fish. Prospecting is accumulating that list of folks.
Research Niche Market: Until you find that people group it is difficult to do general marketing in a city or town. Until you develop the appropriate message for your people group it is difficult to market. In “Mining Your Natural Market” I talk about how to tap into your spheres of influence.
We all have spheres of influence and we all hang out with people of like-minds and like-thinking. We all understand our spheres of influence because we “are” one of them. It is for this reason I would encourage you to go after the simplest, easiest, market. Go after your soft market.
Your spheres of influence will be the most receptive to YOU.
How does this tie into your 30 Day Blueprint for Success? Glad you asked. There’s an old saying that if you “don’t know where you’re going any road will get you there.”
Research the market (people group) you want to go after; if you don’t know who your market (people group) is than start with your own spheres of influence (natural market). I’ve got several items about Mining Your Natural Market.
